Our 25th Anniversary Season!

We are a "college prep" volleyball club that trains and prepares our players for college volleyball.   We strive to develop our players' volleyball skills and volleyball IQ for the "next level" which necessarily develops their recruitment stock.  We achieve this with a high level of specialized training emphasizing technique and tactics.  We strategically compete on a national level maximizing our players' exposure to college scouts.  We also assist our players in getting recruited by schools that best fit their academic and athletic goals.

2nd Annual HAWAII VOLLEYBALL COMBINE

The 1st Annual Hawaii Volleyball Combine was a huge success with Hawaii's top high school volleyball players, from various clubs, getting full-ride offers and many others getting interest!  Hawaii's top high school volleyball recruits from across the State and top collegiate coaches from across the country attended the combine.  The 2nd Annual Hawaii Volleyball Combine will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2011 followed by an Invitational Volleyball Tournament (Scouting Showcase) sponsored by the Asics Rainbows Volleyball Club on Sunday, January 23, 2011.   This is an amazing opportunity to show off your volleyball skills to the country's top coaches right here in Honolulu.  Do not miss out!  For more information on the combine, go to our combine website at

Where do Hawaii's top volleyball players train?  Optimal Volleyball Training!   For many years, Hawaii's best high school volleyball players have trained with Coach Luis Ramirez at Optimal.  Players from various clubs from ALL Hawaiian island have trained at Optimal.  Players from the Big island and Maui have flown to Honolulu just to train at Optimal!  Training is offered both during and after school season.    Optimal is where Hawaii's volleyball players train to take their game to a higher level!   Do not worry if you are a beginner as sessions range from Beginner to Advanced!   For more information or to register, click the Optimal Logo below:

Congratulations to Sydney Yogi who was named to the 2010 U.S. Women's A2 National Team!  Sydney plays Libero for the University of Texas.  She played Libero for Asics Rainbows and Punahou!

Congratulations to Tamari Miyashiro who was named to the 2010 U.S. Women's National Training Team!  Tamari is a 2 Time All American and 2 Time National Defensive Player of the Year.  Tamari played Libero for the University of Washington and also played for Asics Rainbows!


Asics Rainbows Trained with the Dominican Republic National Team Coaches!
The Asics Rainbows 17s and 18s girls trained with the Coaches from the Dominican National Team and one of their star players, Milagros Cabral Dela Cruz, from April 5, 2010 to April 10, 2010!  Head Coach Marcos Roberto Kwiek and Assistant Coach Wagner Roberto Rocha Pacheco ran the training.  The Asics girls met the Dominican players at last year's Pan American Games in Miami.

Congratulations to Sarah Palmer (Hawaii Baptist Academy 2010) for being named a 2009 HIGH SCHOOL ALL AMERICAN by PrepVolleyball.com.  She was also a 2008 All American.   Sarah was also named the STATE'S PLAYER OF THE YEAR for 2008 and 2009 and the GATORADE PLAYER OF THE YEAR for 2008 and 2009!!  This award distinguishes Sarah as Hawaii's best volleyball player (the past 2 years)! Sarah played Outside Hitter for HBA and is an Outside Hitter on our 18s Black Team.  Sarah will be playing for the #2 Ranked Texas Longhorns next year!  She will be joining former Asics Rainbow Sydney Yogi (2008) who plays Libero for the Longhorns!  Hook'um Horns!

Congratulations to Ayesha Hein (St. 
Andrews Priory 2010) who is a National Merit semifinalist.  Ayesha is in the top 1% of ALL Seniors in the nation.  She will be bringing her volleyball and her brain to Hofstra University where she will be playing with a full volleyball scholarship!!  Ayesha will be joining former Asics Rainbow Maile Scarpino (2009) who plays Libero for Hofstra!  Ayesha played Middle for St. Andres Priory and is a Middle on our 17s Black Team.  Go Ayesha!

Contratulations to Katherine Brooks (Punahou 2012) who made the 2009 Youth National Training Team (Colorado Springs).  Kat and her Asics 17s Black teammate Tai Manu-Olevao (also Punahou 2012) are 2 of just 19 girls from across the United States that made the team!!  Kat and Tai also made the 2009 USA Select A1 White Team which placed 2nd at the High Performance Championships in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  Kat was named the Best Passer for her Divsion in the Tournament!  Kat plays Libero for Punahou and for our 17s Black Team!  Go Kat!

LAS VEGAS CLASSIC
Congratulations to our 18s Black Team which finished 3rd out of 100 teams! Also Congratulations to our 17s Black Team which finished 9th out of 100 teams. They lost only 1 match by 2 points to a team from France.  They then fought back in the 3rd Set of the Silver Division Title Match down 12-6 to win 16-14, winning the Title!

PAKELA VBC MARTIN LUTHER KING TOURNAMENT
Congratulations to our 17s Black Team which won the 18U 3 day Martin Luther King Tournament which was sponsored by Pakela Volleyball Club.  Congratulations to Katherine Brooks and Kainoa Ocasek for making the all-tournament team!  Mahalo to Kent Ma and Pakela Volleyball Club for putting on an excellent tournament as usual!
