Testimonials by Players
"If you were to ask people 6 years ago on whether or not I could be a setter they would have probably laughed in your face, truth be told I would not have believed it either. Coach Luis Ramirez had the sight and vision for what my talents and potentials could reach. When I joined Asics Rainbows at the age of 14, so many different options and opportunities were opened up to me. I could play anything and the great thing about it was that I was supported not only with the intense and necessary training but the unbelievable trust and effort put into me and each player by coach Luis. I'm not saying it's easy, the training is grueling, you get bruised from head to toe, and tears will fall, but there is almost no greater feeling than knowing that all your blood, sweat, and tears has finally paid off when you're signing that LETTER OF INTENT.
Everything was against me when I decided to become a setter. My instincts were those of a hitter, I only stand at 5'5'', and I am not the dainty tall agile looking players that you normally see setting. I had to put extra time in to volleyball if I wanted to become the best. There were personal training camps that were held by Coach Luis that helped me hone in on my setting skills and develop over time. I have to admit the first coupe of years were not pretty but my coaches and teammates never gave up on me. When you join and accept the honor and challenge of becoming apart of Asics Rainbows volleyball club you aren't just in it for the playing time. You create a family that will never leave you. Some of my best friends are from all the years that I spent with them at Asics Rainbows. We become the second family that you never had, from rides to school and practice all the way too bbq's at the house. You create a bond with your teammates that you will miss forever when you have to leave for college. Going through Asics volleyball practice makes playing in college like free time on the play ground. Through out all my years at Asics the biggest thing I have learned is definitely mental toughness and now when all others are stressed through a game I can see how to get out of the situation. I have also learned leadership and how to be a great captain, discipline, and how to push others to strive for what they can achieve. I owe everything in the sense of the player I am today to all the coaches that ever took the time to teach me at Asics. But I am truly grateful to coach Luis for believing in me when nobody else would, including myself. He is the true reason of how I am so skilled in my position and if you do come to Asics and listen to what he has to say and teach you and will bet on my life that you will feel the exact same as me.
It will seem hard while you are going through your years at Asics but trust me when I say it is all worth it. There are sacrifices, the question is are you willing to make them in order to get to where you want to go?!?! For me to be at a Division 1 school at my height is shocking to me and i would have never thought that i would be here, and now I am proving to everyone who thought I couldn't that I can be great at what I do!
I WILL NEVER FORGET ASICS RAINBOWS VOLLEYBALL CLUB!!!"

"
When I first started training with coach Luis and Asics Rainbows I never thought that I could one day play for one of the top teams in the nation, or even play division one college volleyball at all. Soon enough, I saw that the way Asics trains was different from any other program out there. Training wasn't just going through the motions and seeing small results, it was being fully committed to becoming the most complete player you could be and seeing tremendous growth. It wasn't always easy and when my body was aching I sometimes dreaded going to practices, but sticking with it was the best decision I have ever made. Training with Asics not only made me a better volleyball player, but a better all around person. It sounds cliche, but I have truly formed lifetime bonds with my former teammates, my teammate's parents, and coaches. As I write this I am entering the final week of my sophomore year of college and I still am in contact with many of my teammates. Asics taught me mental toughness, how to become a leader, respect and discipline. There are many days in my college practices that I draw from my memory bank all the lessons that coach Luis taught us over the years. I am so blessed and thankful for where I am today and I owe most, if not all of that, to coach Luis and Asics. He truly helped me defy all odds and prove to everyone, and to a part of myself, that a 5'2" volleyball player can achieve goals no one thought was possible."

"
Switching to the ASICS Rainbow Volleyball Club was one of the best decisions for me as a freshmen in high school. The skill sets I learned and the level of competition proved invaluable and prepared me well for DI collegiate volleyball. Mahalo to Coach Luis and his staff for helping me achieve my goals to transition from Middle to OH, and earn a full scholarship."

"I've had the best club experience playing for Asics Rainbows. Coach Luis knows a lot about volleyball and is a great influence on his players. He has helped me tremendously in becoming the player I am today playing at the collegiate level. This past year my college team won the Junior College National Championships, and I owe a big part of my success to Coach Luis and the coaches at Asics Rainbows. Coach Luis knows what's best for his players and chooses only the best coaches to help build the program. I am honored to have been a part of the Asics Rainbows Volleyball Club and to have played under Coach Luis. I am grateful for how much he has helped me in my life. I will be playing at the University of the Pacific next year and will continue to use the knowledge that I have gained from Asics and from the other positive influences that are in my life."
